Dr. Lisa Yates serves community college students who manage disabilities, stigma, and access as Director of the Moreno Valley College, Accessibility Resource Center in Southern California. Lisa also serves as the southern California Autism/Intellectual Disabilities chair for the California Postsecondary Education with Disabilities (CAPED) professional organization. Dr. Yates' post-doctoral research explores perception in relation to disability disclosure, disability identity, neurodiversity/autism, the intersectionality of ableism and racism, and she has presented at multiple state and national conferences on these topics. Lisa is currently researching best practices for utilizing the power of AI to support disabled students, which she will present on in 2026
